Barker Bears Contest: Cast Your Votes!

I would like to thank everyone who participated in my summer contest. The Barker Bears had a great summer and went to many locations throughout MA, RI, NH and even to California.   It was so much fun seeing everyones vacation and summer pictures.  The finalists are below and the voting is open.  Be sure to cast your vote by using the poll on the right.  The voting will be open for one week, until the end of the day on Monday, September 1st.

The winner for the Farthest location is Mielle Marquis.  Mielle and her husband Rob and son Brady took their Barker Bear all the way to Italy.  She is the winner of the $250 Kelli Barker Photography Gift Certificate!  Here are a couple of her pictures from her awesome vacation!  I'm so jealous Mielle!

On Vacation

Just a quick note to remind everyone that the studio is closed for vacation.  I'll be returning all calls and emails beginning Tuesday, August 12th.  Have a great week!  Here are a few favorites from recent sessions.  I'll be sure to post more when I return.

Summer Contest

I announced my summer contest in my newsletter last week and the response has been so great!  I have given in person or mailed out all bears now to anyone who has emailed me saying they would like to participate.  So if I missed anyone just let me know.  I still have several bears that are looking for some summer fun so just send me an email if you would like to join in on the fun.  Here are the details...

Summer Contest                    

Meet the Barker Bears!  These cute little bears need a home and want to spend the summer with you.  If you want to participate in the summer contest you will need one of these bears.  So just send me an email with the subject "Send me a Barker Bear" and include your name and address and I will ship one to you.  This contest is open to anyone so be sure to let your friends who may be interested know about it too.

Contest Details:
* Take your Barker Bear with you on your favorite summer outings and take pictures of your kids with the Barker Bear.  Be sure that the location and the bear are clearly visible in the pictures.  The Barker Bears like to go anywhere, whether it be a local park, beach or a faraway vacation spot, they will have fun anywhere.  Feel free to dress up the bear if you want to and be sure to get creative with your pictures!

*Submit your photos by emailing them to me at kbarker@barkerphoto.com.  Be sure to include a few words about the location you picked and why you picked it.  Also include your name and the names of any people in the picture.

*  All entries must be submitted by August 22, 2008
*  Finalists for the Best Picture Contest will be posted on my blog on August 25th
*  Voting on my blog will take place beginning August 25th for 1 week and the winner will be announced on September 1st, 2008

School Year Comes to an End!

I'm feeling a bit nostalgic tonight as it was Chloe's last day of pre-school today.  I just can't believe my baby girl is going off to kindergarten in September.  I figured it was a good time to share a new picture of both my kiddos.  This one of Chloe and MItchell was taken on Sunday when we did a quick impromptu session on Fathers day.  I will miss the pre-school that both Chloe and Mitch went to so much, it's such a great school.  I did my annual fundraiser for the ELC a few weeks ago and it was another great success.  We had a beautiful May day and we were able to do all the sessions outdoors.  If you want to watch a slideshow of the day go to the 'client' section of my website and enter ELC2008 for the password.  I'll leave the slideshow up for a little while longer for everyone's viewing pleasure. 

 

Short and Sweet Spring Mini Sessions

The upcoming Spring Mini Sessions are filling up quickly.  The May dates are now full but there are a few times left on both 6/12 and 6/18.  So if you are interested in a spring mini session now is the time to schedule a session.  Here are the details that were in my newsletter:

In celebration of the 'short and sweet' spring we usually have, I am offering mini sessions on select days throughout the spring.  Mini Sessions are a shorter version of the classic session at Kelli Barker Photography and are a great way to capture a milestone or special event (birthdays, 1st communion, dance recital, baby milestones, mommy and child for a fathers day present etc.) where a full session is not necessarily needed.

Mini Session Details:
* Price $75
* Mini Sessions are 30 minutes
* 15-20 images will be shown in an online gallery for ordering purposes
* Mini Sessions are for babies and children (no family sessions)
* Either an outdoor OR and indoor session can be chosen
* For indoor sessions, a maximum of 2 background changes allowed

Now I will leave you with a couple from a recent session as promised!  Meet Preston, what a cutie pie this guy is.  I just love a chubby baby!  I've been photographing both his older siblings since they were babies as well.

Recent Sessions

I'm planning on being a better blogger and featuring recent sessions.  So here we go...  These three siblings are so great.  I've been photographing them since they were babies (well the baby is still a baby).  They have been to the studio so many times, I've lost count, I think we are on session #20??  Here are some favorites from their most recent sessions.  Meet Aaron, Connor and Anna.

Baby Steps First Year Collection

New Baby Plan for 2008:  The Baby Steps First Year collection is designed to capture all the wonderful changes that happen during your babies first year.  It includes 3 sessions during the babies first year(scheduled around 4, 8 and 12 months) to capture those precious milestones.  Also included in the Baby Steps program is a 3 pose collage with 1 5x7 image from each session custom matted and framed.  Any frame and mat of your choice is included to make a truly unique display that you will cherish for years to come.  The Baby Steps First Year Collection will only be available to a limited number of clients each month so if you have a new baby and are interested in this plan please contact Kelli to reserve your spot.  The cost of the Baby Steps First Year Collection is $350.

Fall Contest Winner!
